Policy Meetings in Brussels
H2020 projects PAVE, PREVEX and CONNEKT join forces for two events in Brussels
On Monday, 27th June, representatives from the three sister projects PAVE, PREVEX, and CONNEKT met in Brussels for two in-person events where they shared insights from the three projects with Brussels-based civil society organisations and policy makers.
First, their way led to EPLO, the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office, for a Brown Bag Lunch session where they discussed the impact of the war in Ukraine on radicalisation and violent extremism dynamics in the Western Balkans, MENA, and Sahel regions.
In the afternoon, a Science-to-Policy meeting was organised at the European Parliament. Here, radicalisation and resilience to violent extremism in the MENA and the Balkan regions, as well as policy implications for the European Union were discussed with EU policy officers. The event was hosted at the European Parliament by Ernest Urtasun, Member of the European Parliament; Vice-Chair, Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance, and moderated by Roger Albinyana, Managing Director of the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed).
