PAVE at CERIS FTC Workshop on Radicalisation

On November 29, 2022, PAVE project coordinator Véronique Dudouet (Berghof Foundation) was part of a panel on “Resilience Tools and Prevention Methods” at a CERIS FTC Workshop on Radicalisation that took place in Brussels. The workshop was organised by the Community of European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS) on behalf of the European Research Executive Agency, DG Migration and Home Affairs, and DG Research and Innovation (European Commission).

In her presentation, Véronique Dudouet introduced the structure of the PAVE project, its research design and methodology, key findings on PVE and resilience-building, as well as major outputs from the project such as the transnational risk map, practitioner and policy makers toolkit, and forthcoming training modules on five key thematic areas.

The workshop brought together representatives of EU-funded projects in the field of radicalisation and violent extremism with EU practitioners and policy makers. For PAVE, it was an especially welcome opportunity to expand the knowledge on the work of other research projects in related fields and establish connections to peer researchers. The three “sister projects” PREVEX, CONNEKT, and PAVE that received funding under the same call seized the occasion to plan ahead for deepening their ongoing collaboration: in addition to past activities that the three projects already implemented together, more joint events and publications are upcoming, including a conference Brussels in April 2023 – stay tuned!
